Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington — Haunted Temple Studios announces Skulls of the Shogun, an invigorating cocktail of 1960′s flavored sorcery and strategy – in development for major gaming platforms. Washing up on the shores of the afterlife, players meet and join forces with vibrant ghost-samurai warriors, magical animal-monks, and mustachioed samurai generals on the way to capture Skulls of the Shogun.  With its roots in classic turn-based strategy gaming, Skulls of the Shogun retains depth and adds a smooth, simple interface that makes it accessible and enjoyable even to players new to the genre.  Players immerse themselves in battle with fun and unique game play features amidst lush, eerie environments.  Also featuring 4-player local and networked multi-player and an original score inspired by old samurai films and dub, Skulls of the Shogun offers simple-yet-deep, refined and offbeat gameplay.

Hello, I just wanted to say that you already have one purchase here. I just read the preview over at 1up.com and wanted to let you know how excited I am for this game. I too am a die hard fan of the turn based strategy genre, and I’m very sad at the lack of the genre in this day and age. When I heard that it was coming to the PC, and that it was going to be like Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics, I knew that I would be buying it. Hope you guys can get it on steam.

Also wanted to say that the interview you did over at 1up.com was great. After reading it, it managed to bring back some fun memories for my from my time in college taking my 3D Graphics and Game Design course. Sadly, due to deaths in the family, I lost my chance to be able to follow the career in game design that I wanted to, but I’m still thankful for the two years of great memories I had in college making our crappy game for graduation. And at least getting a shot at trying. One funny thing I got out of it was a weird fascination for designing game UI’s. I find myself with photoshop open and me redesigning UI’s for games that I’m playing, or imaginary games that I want to make, all the time. Doubt I’m good enough for the caliber of work you guys are doing, but if you ever want some more ideas for the games UI design feel free to let me know! I want to see this game succeed as much as you guys do, and hope that it helps restart the turn based strategy genre.

We need more excellent turn based games that are not only a challenge but fun to play. I am fully disabled now, so no longer anything more than turn based ‘speed’ in my games. I really look forwards to this PC game. You have a sale here.

Plus being EA refugees is a thumbs up. Glad you got to create
YOUR thing now. Show the world your stuff guys.
