Post-Pax, and the Indie Games Arcade @ EG Expo

Machinima.com nominated us for three awards at Pax – Best New IP (“Without a 2″), Best Surprise (“Surprise! Buttsecks!”), and Best Indie Game (“Hipster F**k”). If they saw our ironic Susan Lucci t-shirts, we would have one that last one – oh well. Thanks to the Machinima.com guys though, and to everybody else who checked out the game at the show!

In other news, we got into the Indie Games Arcade at the Eurogamer Expo in London Oct. 1-3, along with a host (well, 9) other talented indie devs, like HandCircus & Messhof. Congrats to all the teams that got in! We must now prepare be evaluated by the scarily judgemental but otherwise exceptional Rock, Paper, Shotgun crew.

Since Jake’s working in Tokyo for the month, and Ben’s not sure if he can make it, looks I will be slumming it by myself in a hotel room that doesn’t even have it’s own bathroom (it shares one). I guess staying in a hostel would technically be *more* hipster, but I just turned 34 and I’m too old for that shit.

If you’re at the expo, check us out and say hi!

Actually, funny that you mention it, we thought about having some fighting game inspire mini-games during combat, but we came up with some other features we liked better. (Not doing them also lets us allow players to play each other by sending turns every once in a while – like a play-by-email game, only supported naturally in the game instead actually by email). We thought that would be cool for folks who can’t sit done and play at the same time (although I still wouldn’t rule anything out just yet on the minigames). As for the moustaches, you’ll just have to wait for more proof! :)
